ОБ АВТОРЕ. Элвин Тоффлер

Всемирно известный американский социолог и футуролог Элвин Тоффлер - автор трудов, имеющих большое значение. Его работами зачитываются более чем в 50 странах мира, он - один из наиболее известных американских авторов. "Шок будущего", посвященный проблемам ускорения перемен, получил во Франции престижную премию "Тысячное зарубежное издание". Книга привлекла внимание Белого дома, а ее название вошло в английский язык как идеома. "Третья волна", где описывается появление нового общества, вызвала интерес многих известных политических лидеров, начиная с Михаила Горбачева и кончая премьер-министром Японии. В Китае сначала эту книгу запретили, потом она стала "библией" китайской интеллигенции, второй по популярности после речей Дэнсяопина.
Э. Тоффлер работает в тесном творческом контакте со своей женой Хайди Тоффлер. Она помощница и соавтор Э. Тоффлера. Их анализ современного меняющегося мира представлен как в вышеупомянутой работе, так и в книгах "Адаптивная корпорация", "Наметки и предпосылки" и "Эко-спазм". Эти работы внимательно читает высшее руководство. Их изучают во многих университетах мира на курсах экономики и бизнеса, социологии, литературы, философии.
Э. Тоффлер начал свой путь вашингтонским корреспондентом, потом вошел в состав редакции журнала "Форчун". Работал он и как приглашенный ученый-исследователь в Фонде Рассела Сейджа, и как приглашенный профессор -

в Корнтельском университете, а затем в штате факультета Новой Школы социальных исследований (США). В настоящее время Тоффлер - член Международного института стратегических исследований.
За свои широкомасштабные работы он был принят в члены Американской ассоциации содействия развитию науки, получил книжную премию Фонда Макензи за "выдающийся вклад в литературу по менеджменту", правительством Франции был удостоен чести именоваться кавалером ордена искусства и литературы. Хайди Тоффлер, человек широких творческих интересов, имеет почетную ученую степень доктора юридических наук и Медаль Президента Республики Италия за свою работу футуролога.
